The Canterbury Women’s team will meet Auckland for the second time this season, when they head north to contest the semi-final of the Farah Palmer Cup this Saturday.
The sides met just three weeks ago in round robin play, with the defending champions Auckland the victors by 29-25. Canterbury qualified for the finals in third place, beating Manawatu in their last round robin fixture, while Auckland will be looking to bounce back from their narrow loss to Counties Manukau in week 7. The unbeaten Counties Manukau side will host Wellington in the other semi-final, scheduled to start at midday on Saturday.
The Canterbury coaches have made just one change to the starting fifteen from last weekend; Fiona Wright moves to the reserves bench, and Kaylee Tavendale will start at lock.
Canterbury halfback Kendra Cocksedge has the chance to write herself in to the record books this weekend; with 108 points for the season so far, she is currently just two points away from Manawatu player Selica Winiata's season points record in the competition.
Kick off is at Auckland University RFC at 12:05pm this Saturday.
